Melia Family Foundation Charity Relay Walk/Run. Join is the fun and help raise money for a great cause.
"Save-A-Life" Melia Foundation
Mission Statement: To inspire and empower young people to value life, develop a positive self image and realize their full potential.
At our Melia Team Summer Retreat last year we raised over $25,000 for this charity. We would like to do the same this year.
ARE YOU IN? EVERYONE CAN BE IN IT. WALK/JOG/RUN WHICH EVER YOU WOULD LIKE.
This is a relay walk/run. It will be 3 miles and each person will walk/run 1 mile. Every team must have 1 female on it.
You will walk/run 1 mile then on to your next team mate.
The relay is on Friday morning before the training event starts so make sure you book your flight to arrive on thurs night June 25th.
How to get involved:
1. Find a team of 3 people and fill out the registration form (forms on meliafamily.com under foundation)
2. If you need to be put on a team fill out the same registration form and email it back and we will find a team for you.
3. Want to be a volunteer please email kim@kimmelia.com 4. Start collecting donations for the Save-A-Life Melia Foundation. (form online meliafamily.com)
Entry fee is $75 per team if pre-registered ($100 if not pre-registered). All participants will receive a 2009 Save-A-Life t-shirt.
To register just simply fill out registration form and email it back to Karen ksaint9999@cox.net You can raise the money as a team or each pay $25. All proceeds got to the "Save-A-Life" Melia Foundation.
FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOME COMPETITION IN THE RELAY WE HAVE A CONTEST "BEAT THE MELIA'S" (MIKE, STEVE & KIM MELIA).
WE ARE A TEAM AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE WHO WANTS TO BEAT US??
FOR ANY TEAM THAT BEATS US IN THE RELAY WE WILL PERSONALLY DONATE $100 PER TEAM TO THE SAVE-A-LIFE MELIA FOUNDATION.

On Father's Day, 2004 we were invited to spend the day with a dear friend who was terminally ill with cancer. His name is David Stecki.
 "The first time I met Dave was at a Super Saturday in Long Beach, California. His enthusiasm was contagious. I knew right away he was going to the top." - Mike Melia
On the way home from our visit Steve began to reflect on what we could do to help. The Melia Family Foundation was the solution he came up with. He proposed the idea to Kim and Mike and the Foundation was born.
Throughout his fight for life, David was a source of inspiration. It is easy to have a good attitude when things are going great. David showed us what he was made of when the chips were down. His zest for living and his unwillingness to succumb to depression and defeat has been a tremendous example for all of us.
David's Spirit will always be alive as the Melia Family Foundation strives to aid others in need.
